Lakota: Prices jumped 80% and not 17%

Chairman of the BH Consumer Protection Association, Mensud Lakota, stated how the prices of basic food products rose 80% on average in a year.

On the other hand, according to the official statistics, the prices of food and non-alcoholic drinks increased 14.7% in a year, transport 20%, while housing costs grew 10% yoy. Lakota claims these figures are unrealistic, especially 17.03% higher prices of food and non-alcoholic drinks, discarding both results of the Federal and RS Statistics Bureaus.

He explained how statisticians consider 200 food products, among which some are less essential and their prices do not change as much, due to which the figures reported do not portray the real situation.
